Although William De Morgan drew hundreds of animals over his career, the lion is a true symbol of strength and guardianship. With the lion in turquoise and cobalt, she stands proudly against the run ray behind her.

With a generous size of 30 x 150 cm, this rectangular scarf is versatile and can be styled in various ways, whether untied or looped. Part of a casual or formal outfit, it could also be knotted on a bag handle or worn as a headscarf.

Stocked by Guildhall Art Gallery for the temporary exhibition Evelyn De Morgan: The Modern Painter in Victorian London (4 April 2025  - 4 January 2026).
